Future H.E.R.'s mission is to guide young women to become successful, confident leaders through skill building and career exploration. This is our new young women empowerment division, as two divisions with similar missions have merged. Learn more about what the two divisions have worked on in the past, and help them develop a vision for how we can be stronger together.

Real Roots
|
This year, we merged our former NEXT and STEAM divisions to create Future HER. This team partners with the Girl Scouts of Western New York to train Girl Scouts in sales, career exploration, entrepreneurship and college readiness through two main events and troop meetings. The STEAM team is focused on educating youth in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Working with Striders, which is an education and athletic mentor/tutoring organization in Dunkirk, they have created and begun implementing an after school program at four local districts for young girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. |
Real Growth
NEXT conducts various workshops built around the life of a high school student, covering topics they are interested in and topics that will prepare them for the near future. Including College Planning, Career Exploration, Personal Finance, The Real Life Game; a room sized game based off of the game of LIFE where girls go around in pairs and walk through the steps of real life, and The Cookie Oven; which teaches the older girls advanced selling techniques that will help them reach more cookie customers other than their neighborhood, close family and friends.

To date, Future HER has impacted 335 Girls Scouts, teaching them many skills that could be utilized in the professional world.
